A New Day?

13Jun07

So, once again, after a 2 week hiatus, ITT is back in session. A quick update to my schedule, which is quite relevant to my previous post - is that the offending teacher was mysteriously - and I have to believe - coincidentally dropped from my schedule. I digress…

On my way to school this evening I had determined not to start in with the cynicism - a great and optimistic thought, without a doubt. But of course, ITT was equally determined to squash my optimism.

First day of class, and one of the two books (one for each class) is unavailable. Maybe not a huge gripe - heck I don’t usually even open the book for the first few weeks anyway. But maybe my point in writing this - as the teacher speaks on - is to point out the consistently systemic problems of this school.

It’s entirely too early to start in on a rant with the fervor of my previous post. Will this quarter be different - aside from the books issue?

We shall see…

UPDATE:  It’s been about an hour since I posted this entry, and lo and behold - either the administrators are reading my blog in real-time or the Gods of scholarship have smiled upon me!  The Dean of the department walked in with the book for this class!  Supposedly from his ’secret stash’ - which I don’t quite get - but it doesn’t really matter.  I now have a book - which I’ll write about in a few weeks, once I’ve actually removed the cellophane from it.  :)
