I call it “Day 0″ because technically I don’t leave for India till tomorrow. I am now at the Doubletree hotel in Chicago and this very first leg of the journey - the shortest leg - went as well as it could have. Since I was exceedingly early for my flight out of St. Louis, I spent some time at the airport ‘Chili’s’ and had some of the most expensive quesadillas known to man. I expected as much, so I’m not griping. After killing about 80 minutes of idle time I boarded the flight and was seated next to a talkative lawyer and his wife - both in their late 50’s. I’m normally talkative, but in this case I was just looking forward to enjoying the variety of tech podcasts I downloaded. The flight was only 40 minutes and seemed even shorter than that. One bit of anxiety came when I realized that all of the luggage at the baggage claim looked identical to mine. This is a suitcase I borrowed from my sister so I’m not really familiar with any uniquely identifying characteristics on it. Fortunately everyone else was smart enough to tie a ribbon or other identifier to their bags so mine was distinguished by having nothing on it. After a few minutes I got my bag (which now has a new “Very Heavy - Lift With Your Legs” tag on it) and got a cab from the airport. A short ride later I arrived at my current location
- the Doubletree Hotel. Justin just arrived and now our quest for dinner begins. Apparently most restaurant/bars in the immediate vicinity are closed for the holiday so we may have to improvise. That’s it for now - the next entry should be from India.

“Day 0″?
That got a real-life LOL.
I am now watching/reading you. Hope you have a great trip.
